Kirinda and Mijumwa Water Supply System Commissioned in Wakyato Sub-County, Nakaseke District

The Kirinda and Mijumwa Water Supply System has been officially commissioned, bringing clean water to 13 villages. The project, funded by the Exim Bank of India and implemented by the Ministry of Water and Environment’s Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department, features 100 promotional taps and 13 Public Stand Pipes (PSPs) strategically located in government schools and busy town centers, a reservior tank, a pumpstation and solar panels

Led by Project Engineer Eng. David Bateganya, officials inspected and commissioned the system, handing it over to Umbrella of Water and Sanitation Central for operation and maintenance. This initiative is set to improve access to clean water, enhancing the health and well-being of communities in Wakyato Sub-County.

Others present were Nakaseke District Leadership, Wakyato local leaders, contractor team and Umbrella of Water and Sanitation-Central who are going to be in charge of operation and maintenance
